We wanted to take the time to let everyone know that we will be participating in Egg Fest again this year! Egg fest 2013 will take place one week from this Saturday. The official date of Egg Fest this year is Saturday, August 24th. The event will start at 10 a.m. (rain or shine) and end at 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. There will be a live cover band, along with all the food you can eat. Drink tickets can be purchased at the door. This event is held at Sullivan Hardware store on Keystone Avenue, about a mile south of our offices. They’re right on the southeast corner of 71st & Keystone Avenue in Indianapolis.
For those of you new to Egg Fest, please allow us to explain exactly what it is. Basically, Egg Fest is a large backyard barbecue, held in the parking lot of Sullivan Hardware. Individuals, or teams of people, can register for a Big Green Egg Grill that day. Sullivan Hardware provides the Green Egg and any choice(s) of meat you desire to grill. This results in about a hundred Green Eggs grilling delicious foods for all to try. After the day, you can take home one of the used Green Egg Grills at a reduced price. It’s very possible you get a Green Egg, used only once, for over $300 off of the retail price. More importantly, this is just a fun event to attend with family and friends. Ten bucks gets you a day full of food and music. It was a fantastic event last year, and we know it will only be better this go-around.
Travis Round, who heads our commercial lines department here at Steffey Insurance, is a grilling enthusiast. Last year at Egg Fest, he was able to produce ribs, pulled pork, jumbo shrimp, and more. Although Egg Fest is not a competition, Travis definitely took gold (in our opinion) last year, and he’s back to satisfy the hunger of everyone in 2013.
